Fire Resistant
A UL rating has been given to the fixture. Small-scale tests that assess the flammability of polymeric (plastic) materials used for parts in devices and appliances in response to a small, open flame or radiant heat source under controlled laboratory conditions are included in the Standard for Tests Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances.
Illumination
Long-lasting, energy-efficient, and ultra-bright white LEDs are used in emergency lighting. For optimum light distribution, the heads are made with high-performance chrome plated reflectors and polycarbonate lenses. Red or green LEDs are used in the exit section.
ABS Housing
The fixture is made of injection-molded Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) thermoplastic. ABS has a loftier hardness, gloss, toughness, and resistance properties to pure polystyrene, which is more important. The fixture's ability to withstand heat in an emergency allows it to perform with its full potential.
During Emergency
If the average utility power fails, an internal solid-state transfer switch allows for an uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90 minutes. The fully automatic charger begins recharging a discharged battery within 24 hours.
Battery Backup
The LED Exit Light is powered by a 1.2 Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) battery that lasts
for at least 90 minutes in an emergency. The battery takes 24 hours to recharge.
